How to Change Lexus Tires

If you want to drive your Lexus vehicle, you will have to make sure that every part of the vehicle is in order, especially the parts that allow the car to move: the tires! Getting a flat tire while not having the knowledge of how to replace it would make one feel rather helpless.

You may also not want to call in the professionals if you do not have the funds to do so. But have no fear! You may do this yourself if you learn the proper steps and use the right tools. We at Lexus would love to teach you how to change your Lexus tires. Here are the step-by-step instructions!

Secure Your Car

Make sure that your car is secured so that it will not roll all over the place. Do not replace a tire on a steep incline or on a hill. You should always find a relatively flat surface to carry out the replacement, even if you need to drive with a flat tire to a place with a flat surface. Once this is done, you may use bricks or other tools to provide support for your car.

Remove the Wheel Cover

You may utilize a screwdriver to remove the wheel cover. Simply insert the pointed end of the screwdriver where the cover’s edges make contact with the wheel, and proceed to exert leverage.

Make the Lug Nuts Loose

Do not totally remove the lug nuts. You just need to get the lug nuts loose enough to the point that you can take them off with your hands after your car has been jacked up. A cross-shaft wrench and a hollow pipe are capable of loosening even the tightest lug nuts.

Jack Up Your Car

Put the jack in a secure position underneath the edge of your vehicle and jack it up at least six inches  the ground.

Take Out the Flat Tire

Remove the lug nuts with your hands and place them in a secure location. You may place them in the wheel cover, or the hub cap. With both hands, grab the flat tire and pull it off your car.

Lift the New Tire onto the Lug Nuts

Put the new tire onto the lug nuts. Do note that tires can be very heavy, so take extra care when you are putting the new tire in place.

Put the Lug Nuts Back in Position and Tighten Them

Give every lug nut a jerk with your wrench in order to get them firmly in place. However, you should wait till your car is firmly in contact with the ground prior to the tightening of the lug nuts.

Lower Your Car and Tighten the Lug Nuts

Once your car is resting firmly and securely on the ground, you may use your lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts as far as possible.

Put the Wheel Cover or Hubcap Back in Place

Put the wheel cover or the hubcap back in their proper positions and you’re done!
