Vehicles that are battery-powered or fuel-cell powered with zero emissions are exempt from state sales tax! You can take home your new Lexus RZ, tax free!
How do you receive your sales tax exemption? To get your sales tax exemption on your new or used zero emission vehicle, the process is easy. For a new car, the Lexus RZ for example, the dealership needs to complete the Exempt Use Certificate.
If you decide on a used electric car, the person whom you are purchasing the car from should complete the Certificate as well. When you go through the vehicle registration process, remember to bring along your Certificate.
