How To Reset The Lexus VSC Light
Before we explore how to reset the Lexus VSC light, let's touch on one very important question: What is a Lexus VSC light?
Vehicle Stability Control is, technically, what VSC stands for. When suddenly turning onto slippery roads or swerving, a driver can better control skidding thanks to this system. A warning light on the dashboard will flash when this system is on/activated.

Is It Time to Reset the VSC Light?
Alongside the Traction Control (TRAC), your vehicle’s VSC system works. On slick surfaces, when accelerating, drive wheels will be somewhat prevented from spinning by the TRAC system. If you had to shut off your TRAC and VSC system for some reason, the next time the switch for the engine is turned off, they should automatically be re-enabled.
It should turn on again, if only the TRAC system was turned off, once you increase speed. Then again, if both the TRAC and VSC were turned off, even when the vehicle speed increases, the automatic re-enabling won't occur.
As soon as possible, you'll want to get your vehicle checked out if the systems don't turn on when they are supposed to.
VSC Maintenance Tips
The best way to take care of both your TRAC and VSC systems is to know when they should be checked out by a professional. You want to make sure that both systems are operating normally because, in part, they work so closely together. If you don't, when traveling on slippery road surfaces, you may not have the traction you need to do so safely.
If the switch hasn't been pressed, and yet, on the multi-information display, you see "Traction Control Turned off", the TRAC system will NOT be operational. As soon as possible, you’ll want that looked at.
The TRAC and/or VSC systems may cause unusual noises. From the engine compartment, you may hear a sound when:
- You repeatedly depress the brake pedal
- The vehicle begins to move
- You start the engine
Hearing these noises doesn't automatically point to an issue, but if they worsen or persist, have the vehicle checked out by a qualified professional before more trouble arises.
