Tools You Will Need

Before getting started, you will need to make sure you have these tools on hand:

• Metal pick
• Long and short flathead screwdrivers
• Door panel clips
• A new door panel
• Any replacement parts you will need, such as window motors

Removing the Door Panel

Now that you have the required tools, it’s time to remove your existing door panel. Before doing so, always ensure that the engine is turned off. You will ideally want to be parked in a shaded spot so that you are comfortable throughout the process. Below is how the process will go:

• Gently remove the covers and lights on the door panel to expose the mounting screws. You should be able to see 4 or 5 mounting screws in total.
• Once this is done, you can remove the door panel from the door. If you have trouble doing so, try inserting the long flathead screwdriver between the door and the bottom of the panel.
• If there are any electrical wirings in your door panel, remove them before prying the panel away from your door. Once this is done, check if any door clips are missing from the panel and make a note to replace any that are missing or broken.

Installing the New Door Panel

With the old door panel out of the way, it’s time to install the new one. Follow the below steps to do so:

• Connect the electrical wirings that were detached from the old door panel to the new one while holding it in a suitable position.
• Start the process of installation by attaching the top of the panel to the window seal. Once the top has been secured, you can push the panel into place until you hear a clicking sound indicating that the door clips are in the right place.
• Reattach the covers and lights you have removed from the old door panel.
• Turn on your engine and check that all the functions of the door are working as they should. You are done!
